April 27th, 2023. In this lecture we continue to evaluate the basic principles of symmetry and start by looking at the molecular point groups, we discover what is the difference symmetry that translates and space and symmetry that leaves one point in space unchanged. The symmetry elements are combined in specific set of groups, each of them illustrated by a different molecule. We learn that it’s important to be able to draw molecules in a different orientation. With this lesson, additional materials are available in the resource page.
