Post-Doctoral Researchers
Kasia obtained her Ph.D. degree from the University of Warsaw (Poland) working with Bartosz. Trzaskowski. As a recipient of the prestigious Azrieli Fellowship, she joined the group of Prof. Renana Poranne at the Technion where she works in collaboration with Prof. Graham de Ruiter on Computational Organometallic Chemistry.
Raje obtained his Ph.D. degree from IIT Kanpur in 2019 working with Prof. Raja Angamuthu. After a short post-doctoral stay with Prof. Lee Cronin, he moved to the Technion in 2021 to work with Prof. Graham de Ruiter on developing novel metallaaromatic complexes for applications in photocatalysis.
Amrita Obtainer her Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata working with Prof. Sourav Pal and Prof. Mudit Dixit. In 2024 she moved to the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology to work on computational and mechanistic studies in iron catalyzed cross-coupling reactions and the role of aromaticity in materials design under the supervision of Prof. Graham de Ruiter and Prof. Renana Poranne-Gershoni
Chen obtained his bachelor’s degree in East China University of Science and Technology in 2016. He then continued his M.Sc. studies with Prof. AP de Silva at Queen‘s University Belfast. After graduating in 2018, joined the group of Prof. Mark Gandelman for his Ph.D. studies, which completed in 2023. Since 2024 he is a post-doctoral research in the group of Prof. Graham de Ruiter at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology working on bespoke ligand design for earth-abundant metal catalysis.
Graduate Students
Kartick obtained his M.Sc. Degree from IIT Dhanbad in 2018. After a short stay with Prof. Swadhin Mandal at IISER Kolkata, he joined the group of Prof. Graham de Ruiter at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in 2020 He current works on developing bespoke manganese catalyst of for diverse organic transformations
Tofayel received his M.Sc. degree in 2020 from IIT Kharagpur (India). He moved to the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in February 2021 to start his Ph.D. studies with Prof. Graham de Ruiter. His current research focusses on developing cobalt catalyzed alkene isomerization processes and cycloaddition reactions
Jatin received his M.Sc. degree in 2021 working with Prof. Joyanta Choudhury at IISER Bhopal. After his M.Sc. studies he joined the lab of Prof. Graham de Ruiter in 2021, where he is working on iron catalyzed C-H activation and cross-coupling reactions in collaboration with the group of Michael Neidig at Oxford University
Rohit obtained his M.Sc. degree from IISER Mohali in 2019. After a delay of almost two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic he was finally able to join the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry as a Ph.D. student in September 2021. His research involves exploring the rich chemistry of manganese in organic synthesis, specifically tailored towards dehydrogenation reactions.
Ashutosh received his M.Sc. from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram in 2024 workin on the activation of inactive bonds using Photoredox catalysis with Prof. Veera Reddy Yatham. He joined the group of Prof. Graham de Ruiter in 2024, where he is working on developing new earth-abundant metal catalysts (Fe, Co, Mn) for photocatalysis
Athul received his M.Sc. from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, working on the dehydrogenation of organic molecules under the supervision of Prof. Balaraman. After obtaining his M.Sc. in 2023, he joined the laboratory of Prof. Graham de Ruiter in 2024, where he is working on developing novel chiral at metal complexes for asymmetric catalysis.
Kritika received her M.Sc. in 2023 from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, working on developing new synthetic methodologies for C-H activation, Organocatalysis, Electroorganic, and Photoredox Chemistry. In 2024, she joined the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology working with Prof. Graham de Ruiter on developing new Cobalt-based photocatalysis
Akhanda received his M.Sc. degree in 2023 from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur work with Prof. Sabuj Kundu, working on manganese catalyzed transfer dehydrogenation reactions. In 2024, he joined the group of Prof. Graham de Ruiter working on all aspects of electrochemical oxidation of ammonia for carbon free solar fuels
Priya Received her M.Sc. degree from H.N.B.Garhwal University in India. After working as a research associated in the laboratory of Prof. Susanta Hazra at IISc Bengalore, she joined the group of Prof. Graham de Ruiter as a Ph.D student in 2025 trying to develop novel manganese photocatalysts for organic synthesis.
Undergraduate Students
Yonatan Received his M.Sc. degree from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He currently is pursuing his Ph.D. studies in the group of Prof. Graham de Ruiter at the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry where he is investigating the nature of the carbon-uranium bond in organometallic complexes
